Opportunity Details

Earth Day at Gateway Green

Join Friends of Gateway Green (FoGG) as we prepare the park for the busy warm weather season. Gateway Green, a relatively new 15-acre park in East Portland, is located adjacent to the I-205 Multi-Use Path (MUP), which runs along the entire western boundary of the park.

The park is accessible only by bike or on foot, via the I-205 MUP; vehicles cannot drive into the park. To get to the park, take transit, ride your bike or drive to the Gateway Transit Center. There is some curbside parking along NE Pacific and NE 99th; park visitors may also park along the western edge of the Gateway Fred Meyer parking lot (the side closest to the Transit Center). Please do NOT park on residential streets at either end of the park. and do NOT park in the TriMet Park and Ride lot.

From the Transit Center, ride/walk north on the I-205 MUP to the park entrance (about 1/2 miles). [It should be noted that the trip to the park is mostly downhill, and the trip back is mostly uphill.] Please give yourself at least 10 to 15 minutes to get from the Transit Center to the work site.

We will have someone in the Fred Meyer parking lot (from 9:30 to 10:00 am) to greet volunteers and get them headed in the right direction. Look for the SOLVE sign.
