Cherish the Chetco

Come join us for a fun filled day on the river as we celebrate and restore the natural beauty of the Chetco! Cherish the Chetco is a river cleanup event that offers multiple ways for you to help us keep the river and its banks clean and pristine.

We will be running a river float in kayaks along a section of the Chetco down to Alfred A. Loeb State Park, and stopping at gravel bars along the way to pick up any trash we can find. Kayaks (both single and tandems), guiding, and shuttle service will be provided by South Coast Tours. Space is limited so if you’d like to join us and reserve a kayak, or bring your own, please contact Robbie Lascheck (see contact info below).

If you don’t want to come along for the trip, you’re also welcome to pick up trash at any particular locations you’d like. We will have supplies (trash bags, gloves, trash pickers) at the check-in station at Alfred A. Loeb State Park starting at 9am.

We will have free lunch and watershed education activities at our celebration at Alfred A. Loeb State Park for everyone that participates. The celebration will kick-off at noon, hopefully right as the kayak tour arrives.
