Detrash Portland: Celebrating Jazz Without Litter

Join us for an afternoon of community care and jazz! This event is part of our ongoing efforts to revitalize downtown through the Detrash Portland series. Each month, we focus on a different section of downtown, bringing people together to remove litter and make a visible impact.

The event kicks off at 1 PM outside the Oregon Historical Society, where we’ll distribute supplies and provide a brief safety talk before getting started. Together, we’ll help keep our city clean and vibrant.

Enjoy a live jazz performance presented by SOLVE, featuring students from the Portland Youth Jazz Orchestra at the end of the event. This special performance is inspired by the 2025 Biamp Portland Jazz Festival, presented by PDX Jazz, happening February 20 - March 1.

Advanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

Meeting Location: We will be meeting outside the Oregon Historical Society. Look for the SOLVE signs!

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.

What's Provided: Bags, grabbers, gloves, and hi-vis vests. Everything you need to have a great event!

Parking: There is street parking available nearby.

Transit: Several bus and MAX lines let out nearby.

Accessibility: This area is accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
