Earth Day Neighborhood Support for Nehalem American Legion Cemetery

Neighbors of Nehalem American Legion Cemetery are invited to a special Earth Day gathering to show support for this special historic place.  Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 11AM - 2PM, neighbors will have the opportunity to help beautify the site.  Supplies will be available for litter pick up, pruning of shrubs, removal of invasive scotch broom and cleaning of historic monuments. Join host Val Vines Magee at the cemetery flag pole to sign in and get started. Bring your favorite gloves, pruners, and water.

Advanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting at the flag pole in the center of the cemetery.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.

What's Provided: Gloves, pickers, bags, brushes, tarps.

Parking: Parking is at the entrance to the cemetery.

Accessibility: This area may not be easily accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
