Beach Clean-up Carl Washburne State Park

Spend the afternoon (12 - 4 PM) on Friday April 25th at Carl Washburne State Park located ~13 miles north of Florence collecting flotsom/jetsom that has washed ashore.  We are focused on collecting and removing litter from the beach, from microplastics to 50 gallon plastic barrels.  This is a company sponsored event but is open to the public.  We will provide plastic trash bags, gloves and a limited number of tools for use during the event.  

Advanced Registration: Is required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting at the day use parking lot (ocean side of highway 101) at Carl G. Washburne State Park (13.7 miles north of Florence- 2 miles north of Heceta Lighthouse turnoff

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.

What's Provided: We will have nitrile gloves of 3 sizes, and SOLVE branded trash bags. There will a very limited number tools for picking up garbage

Restrooms: Restrooms are available at the parking lot and have running water

Parking: The parking lot has plenty of parking, and has restrooms with flush toilets and cold running water. There is a paved walking trail to the beach entrance, but there are rough steps of driftwood down to the sand.

Transit: Not available nearby

Accessibility: This area may not be easily accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
