Rogue River Cleanup

Please take a few moments to sign up for the Rogue River Cleanup and look at your stewardship options for the day. We are so happy for you to join us in keeping our river clean!

The event will be held from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 7th, 2025

Join us for a river and beach cleanup for Saturday, June 7th to tackle litter in and around the Rogue River. For additional volunteer forms, maps, and brochures, please visit www.currywatersheds.org/rogue or by contacting Kelly Timchak at kelly@currywatersheds.org  (541-373-0057). This year we are collaborating with a GBHS Senior on her Senior Project. Adrianne Gee will be running the beach portion of the cleanup this year! She has some exciting things planned for those interesting in the beach cleanup. Community members will help to clean up gravel bars and beaches, while other community volunteers will be helping with river and beach cleanups or invasive weed removal. 

WE WILL PROVIDE:

• Small first aid kits, latex gloves, trash bags, safety vests, and sharps containers
• Limited number of trash pickers (to be returned)
• Dumpsters for any garbage you pick up
• Celebration lunch FREE to you to say thank you!
• Volunteer awards!

• Garden gloves (or something similar) if you want sturdy gloves. We will have limited pairs.
• Sun clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
• Comfortable, sturdy shoes
• Reusable water bottle
• Extra snacks to get you to lunch!

9:00 am – 10:00 am Check In:  Register at the Gold Beach Visitor Center (94080 Shirley Ln, Gold Beach, OR 97444) to sign up for beach cleanups, river bar/roadside cleanups, or invasive weed removal if you have not done so online already. Sign volunteer waivers, collect gear, and get ready to clean up. There are restrooms available at this location.

10 am – 12 pm Litter Clean ups & Invasive Weed Pulling:  Clean up by boat (sign up with personal watercraft) OR self-guided river bar or beach clean ups on foot or by your own vehicle. Remove invasive weeds with CWP crew on Mill Bar.

12 pm – 2:00 pm BBQ Celebration Lunch: with community partners! Join us at the USFS Quosatana Campground Day Use Area for the Celebration BBQ!!  (From Gold Beach, Oregon, travel 14 miles east via Jerry’s Flat Rd./Forest Road 33, turn left into campground.). There are restrooms available at this location.

Advanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

Meeting Location: Volunteers will meet at the Gold Beach Visitor Center (94080 Shirley Ln, Gold Beach, OR 97444) to sign up if you have not done so online already. Look for SOLVE signs!

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.
