Oaks Bottom Clean-up August 2025

Join Friends of Oaks Bottom, SOLVE and Portland Parks and Recreation to keep Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge clean for trail users and wildlife! Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is a 163-acre floodplain wetland that sits along the east bank of the Willamette River, OR, and is the largest remaining natural area within the lower reach of the Willamette-providing necessary habitat for fish and wildlife. Native wildlife populations include threatened salmon and more than 175 species of birds. Everyone is welcome; no experience is necessary!
Advanced Registration: Is required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.
Meeting Location: Meet in the parking lot to the North Entrance of Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge on Milwaukie Ave., across from SE Mitchell St.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.
What's Provided: Volunteers will be provided with gloves, heavy duty garbage bags and litter grabbers.
Restrooms: There is a porta potty in the parking lot at the entrance to Oaks Bottom.
Parking: Street parking is available if the parking lot is full.
Transit: The North Entrance to Oaks Bottom is accessible by TRIMET using the MAX orange line, #19 or #70 bus.
Accessibility: This area may not be easily accessible for folks with mobility concerns.
Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
