Bear Creek Stewardship Day - Bear Creek/Rogue River Confluence (Central Point)

BEAR CREEK/ROGUE RIVER CONFLUENCE – MEET AT PINE STREET, CENTRAL POINT

Parking is available at the gravel parking area north of Pine Street and east of Peninger Road (across from the Pilot Gas station). Participants will carpool to the site to reduce the number of vehicles.

Participants will collect trash from the banks of Bear Creek, around the confluence with the Rogue, and along the Rogue below Bear Creek. A raft will be available to shuttle across the river. Sturdy footwear and ability to walk up and down slopes and rough surfaces is required. If you have them, please wear waders, high-rise rubber boots, and bring a small fishing net to help scoop up trash.

*Participants may also be on the lookout for invasive aquatic plants (water primrose and parrotfeather).*

Pine Street in Central Point check-in and suggested parking area. North side of Pine Street near the Bear Creek Greenway in Central Point. At the intersection of Pine Street and Peninger Road, turn north and immediately turn into the parking area. Check-in location will be located near the Greenway entrance.

Advanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.

What's Provided: Trash pickers, bags, gloves, snacks, and water.
