Viking Day of Service: PSU Downtown Clean-Up

Looking to meet other PSU students, get outside, and make a difference on campus and in the greater community through volunteering?

Join PSU’s Student Community Engagement Center and Student Sustainability Center for Viking Day of Service on Friday, September 26, 2025!

We will come together for a few hours of service, connection, and snacks, as we spread out to support a couple different service projects while getting to know one another!

  • Project 1: Downtown Litter Clean-Up with SOLVE. Don a reflective vest, grab a trash bag and trash picker, and get ready to help clean-up the downtown areas neighboring our campus! Help keep our public spaces clean, enjoy some time outside, get to know downtown, and do something to support the city that PSU calls home. Many hands make light work! Volunteers will check-in, get oriented in small teams, grab gear, and then spread out in small pods into the nearby streets. After picking up litter in our designated areas while connecting to downtown’s many offerings, we will reconvene on campus for a post-project wrap-up. (outdoor, active project; wheelchair accessible options for clean-up route)

All volunteers will meet on campus at Montgomery Plaza to check in, meet your project groups, and get oriented to the morning's service. Groups will head out to their specific projects and then reconvene in the park blocks at the end for a post-project debrief, closing reflection, and snacks.

Viking Day of Service is hosted in collaboration between the Student Community Engagement Center and the Student Sustainability Center. Our community partners include SOLVE.
