Grand Oaks Corvallis Native Shrub Planting

The Grand Oaks Summit HOA in Corvallis Oregon is hosting an event on
November 15, 2025 from 1-4 pm to plant native shrub species in their neighborhood natural areas. They will need a LOT of help this year as they are planting 250 shrubs in 3 different areas in the neighborhood.
Over the last 5 years, the Association has worked to remove and control spreading, choking invasive plants that overwhelmed the treasured ancient oaks and other native plants in the greenspaces of the neighborhood. OSU students, neighborhood volunteers and SOLVE of Oregon participants helped with the first native plantings in these areas. Those plantings have been very successful. This year, with a lot of help, the planting in all areas that abut the paved path through the community will be completed.
The Grand Oaks HOA would like a group of 30-40 people who can work 'off-trail' in a natural area. Volunteers will be digging holes and planting small shrubs. (This involves using shovels to dig holes, bending, lifting and kneeling on uneven ground in possible muddy conditions.) Volunteers will be briefed on safety protocols, site history, restoration planning and implementation, and planting techniques. It is the work of the volunteers that ensure the success of the project and the Association would be most grateful to have you join them!
