Earth Day at Gateway Green

This is the first of six monthly stewardship events at the park this year -- the Second Saturday of Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug & Sep. The focus in April will be on litter pick-up, to get the park ready for the busy warm weather season. The event runs from 10 am to noon. Come early, though, as it will likely take you 10 to 15 minutes to reach the work site.
Gateway Green is a relatively new 20-acre park, located along the I-205 Multi-Use Path (MUP). It's a long, narrow park that offers numerous off-road bike features. But it's more than a bike park. If you come by vehicle or transit (rather than by bike), getting to the park requires about a 1/4 mile walk down a hill into the park (and back up the hill when you leave). Unlike the original entrance along the I-205 MUP, however, the new entrance (next to the North Gateway MAX station) meets ADA slope requirements -- and isn't nearly as noisy. Only vehicles needed for maintenance (and with a park permit) are allowed to drive into the park.
Advanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.
Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting in the park. Look for SOLVE and/or FoGG signs near the Gateway Transit Center. Follow them north into the park; look for the -up tent near the center of the park.
Address: NE 99th Ave & NE Pacific St. Portland, OR 97220 | Map Link
